Ayasoftware Enhanced Configurable Products
Extend Magento 2's native configurable product functionality with powerful SEO, pricing, inventory, and user experience enhancements.
- Simple Product URLs – Generate SEO-friendly URLs for each variant that automatically load the configurable product page with the correct option pre-selected.
- Dynamic Variant Updates – Instantly update SKU, product name, short description, full description, pricing, and URL via AJAX without page reloads.
- Tax-Aware Pricing – Display prices including and excluding tax based on each variant's assigned Magento tax class.

- URL Mapping Rebuild — Admin – A “Rebuild URL Mappings” button in Stores → Configuration → Enhanced Configurable Products scans all stores and rebuilds the simple–to–configurable URL mapping table in bulk. A live progress bar shows percentage complete and a final count of mappings written, with colour-coded status for success and error states.
- URL Mapping Rebuild — CLI – A new
ayasoftware:url:rebuildconsole command rebuilds the URL mapping table from the current catalog without requiring a browser. Useful after bulk product imports or automated deployment pipelines. A companionayasoftware:url:cleanupcommand truncates the table in a single query. - Variant Image in Cart & Mini-Cart – When a customer adds a configurable product to the cart, the selected variant’s own image (e.g. the yellow swatch image for a Yellow variant) is displayed in the cart, mini-cart sidebar, and checkout page instead of the generic configurable product image. Falls back gracefully to the configurable product image if the variant has no dedicated image assigned. Controlled by a Yes / No toggle under Product Details → Show variant image in cart & mini-cart.

Fix
- Fixed the "Starting at:" price label appearing twice on a configurable product's price display whenever the cheapest matching variant had an active special price - once correctly above the price, and once incorrectly prepended to the "Regular Price" line (e.g. "Starting at: Regular Price $65.00"). The label now appears only once, attached to the displayed price.

Fix
- Fixed a critical bug where clicking "Edit" on a configurable product in the shopping cart could delete the cart item and then show a fatal error ("There has been an error processing your request"). This affected any configurable product line item in the cart, not just specific products. The cart now correctly reopens the standard product options page without losing the item.

- Fixed the "Rebuild URL Mappings" button on the Settings page (Stores > Configuration > Ayasoftware > Enhanced Configurable Products) always failing with an "Invalid Form Key" error and never completing.
Compatibility
- Removed a global class preference for
Magento\Catalog\Block\Product\Viewthat was only needed to support the Open Graph meta tags on product pages. Replaced it with a dedicated block class, so the module no longer rewrites a core Magento class site-wide and no longer has a hard dependency on Simple Configurable Products. This avoids conflicts with themes or other extensions that also extend the core product view block.
